The Merrick Art Gallery Associates are proud to present RETROSPECTIVE... a selection from the Merrick's Contemporary Works. Call for Artists: The community of Bridgewater, PA has launched a monthly "block party for the arts" called First Friday. This event takes place on the first Friday of every month thur December, 2009. Artists interested in showcasing their artwork by sketching, painting or demonstrating their craft may do so, along the sidewalks on Bridge Street. Those who choose to demonstrate may set up and sell their artwork without having to pay the vendor fee. The vendor fee is $15. Visit www.bridgewaterpa.com to read all about this event. Saturday Art Classes at the Merrick Art Gallery -- Dates are Oct. 18th, 25th, Nov. 1st, 8th and 15th. 2008. Children's regular classes will be from 9:30-11:30am, cost $55.00 per student (includes all materials) Each week will feature a different art medium such as painting, drawing, print-making, sculpture and hand-built pottery. Call for Artists -- Sweetwater is seeking artists to display their wears at its 15th annual Holiday mART. The benefits of selling your work at Holiday mART are: There is no table fee, just a one time submission fee of only $10.00 Commissions: Sweetwater 40% artist 60%. Artists only need to inventory their work online, label it, and drop it off or mail it to Sweetwater. The artists do not have to be at the sale -- the entire process is streamlined and efficiently run by dedicated Holiday mART volunteers. Sale runs from Nov. 28th through Dec. 6th, 2009. Call for Artists: Bridge Street Perspectives -- A Live Outdoor Art Event -- Located on Bridge Street, Bridgewater, PA, Saturday. Oct. 11th. 2008 -- Artists will create a plein air painting of Bridge Street, between 8 am to noon. Paintings will then be auctioned off with all proceeds benefiting the Pittsburgh MS Foundation. Pittsburgh Society of Artists New Member Screening -- Saturday October 25th, 2008, at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Simmons Hall, 6300 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
